Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Announces First Mid-Century Modern Workshop in Fort Lauderda


The Florida Trust, in partnership with the University of Florida and the Florida Division of Historical Resources, will hold Florida Mid-Century Modern Architecture: Fort Lauderdale, the first in its educational workshop series to be held throughout Florida.

The event serves to spotlight Florida’s important Mid-Century Modern historic resources, drawing attention to the architectural style and time period, as well as pivotal architects and environmental conditions central to the movement. How to document historic structures, and developing an advocacy campaign for a historic building will also be discussed.

9 a.m. Site tour - Fort Lauderdale Federal Courthouse 299 E Broward Boulevard Fort Lauderdale

10 a.m. Workshop - South Side School / Cultural Arts Center 701 S Andrews Avenue Fort Lauderdale (parking will be validated for attendees)
