Florida Trust Endorses Leadership Change at April Board Meeting

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Board of Trustees voted at its Fri., April 17, 2020, Board meeting to accept the resignation of Board President Ryan A. Malloy and designated Immediate Past President Friederike Mittner to fill the President’s role for the remainder of his term, which ends summer of 2021.

Malloy announced his resignation was necessitated by a move out of state.

“We understand the exciting opportunities ahead for Ryan, and while we know he will be a benefit to his new community, we will miss him here in Florida,” Mittner said. “He has been a staunch supporter of historic preservation in Florida and has served the Florida Trust well.”

Malloy was voted president by the full membership of the Florida Trust at its Annual Meeting in 2019. Prior to that role, he served on the executive committee as vice president and treasurer, both for two years. He was also the 2017 Florida Preservation Conference Committee Chair for the St. Petersburg conference.
