Calling All Members: A Reminder for Our Annual Meeting
Updated: Jun 21
A note from Board President Jenny Wolfe on the upcoming Annual Membership Meeting.
As we get excited to meet in DeLand for Preservation on Main Street this July, I want to take a moment to share information about one of the special events that will be held during the conference: The Florida Trust's Annual Membership Meeting.
This meeting is a Florida Trust tradition, a lovely luncheon we hold during our big educational event each year. It is a wonderful way to connect, but it is also a requirement of our organization's bylaws. As a nonprofit we have an obligation to keep you, our members, informed of the operations of the organization, and to provide you an outlet to have your voice be heard. During the meeting we gather our membership together to celebrate the diversity and commitment of our organization. You, our membership, also provide necessary direction on the future of the organization as you vote for new Board members to join us.
This meeting only happens once a year, and with your help we will not only welcome new members to the Board of Trustees, but honor those who have served the Board, and discuss our priorities for the upcoming year.
As President of the Board, my leadership counts on your support and ideas for extending our reach and maintaining relevance in a changing environment. Please remember to sign up for the Annual Membership Meeting (which is also a lovely luncheon) as you register for the conference, it's on the schedule as a ticketed item you will need to add to the cart under events on Wednesday, July 27.
I would love to hear from you and have your support!
If you have any questions, please contact Dafni Kirkpatrick (firstname.lastname@example.org) and she will be happy to help you. We look forward to seeing you in DeLand next month!
